I started this painting in early summer, when I felt drawn to warmth and colour. It grew out of the joy of the first warm days and the feeling of the sea. The flower opens towards the viewer, seen from above, with warm and
cool tones running into one another, soft oranges and yellows meeting quiet blues. In the centre, embroidered beads catch the light like small reflections and give the surface a tactile depth.
Rather than following a fixed plan, I let myself drift and allowed the different patterns and forms to emerge on their own.
