I usually begin my paintings with a pink ground, so for this piece I wanted to take a simpler approach and work only with white for the flower, creating a soft contrast against the pink background. At first, I wasn’t sure if I liked the result, but as the work developed, I found myself becoming more and more drawn to it. Somewhere in the process, I fell in love with the piece.
