In this painting, I was fascinated by the purple blossoms of the iris, especially their unique and expressive shapes. I wanted to capture their form while moving away from a purely realistic approach. I experimented with more abstract elements, allowing the flowers to become less about exact representation and more about shape, colour, and expression.
